Who will be the right person for our next president?

Should we vote SBY for the next five year term or we change him with other candidates?
Well, the questions can be answered by other questions which are some indicators that we may use to make a judgment over his presidency during last five years of his power. Those indicators will not talk about complicated macro economy. Instead, they tend to be related to our daily lives.
Firstly, compared to the early days of Susilo’s presidency to the present, have you been encountering an improvement of your quality of life? For example, you might have been jobless in 2004, but now you have a job. Or if you had had worked already, during the last five years you have enjoyed a rise of income which means you have a better purchasing power today than it was five years ago. That enables you to afford more than just basic needs such as food, clothes, and house as well as a good education for your children.
Secondly, do you feel safer?
Our brothers in Aceh, for instance, will absolutely say “yes” for this question. Undeniable, Susilo has created peace in Aceh. Of course, Jusuf Kalla’s significant contribution should be counted on too. The point is, however, the Helsinki agreement was made under Susilo’s authority. As tsunami hit the conflicting province at the end of 2004, he immediately ordered his officials to negotiate peace with Aceh Separatist Movement and encourage the entire process.
How about you then? Do you feel safer, for example, when you walk or drive in the city today without worrying about being robbed? Do you feel secured to travel around the archipelago now than five years ago when suicide bombers attacked many cities?
Thirdly, if you come from minority groups, are you treated more equal than five years ago?
And so on and so on. You can add more questions regarding your last five years life during Susilo’s presidency. The point is if your quality of life has been getting better in last five years, it would not be a mistake if you vote for him again. But if it has not or on the contrary your life has been worse, you should not choose him. Anyway, only you yourself know the answers, not political observers.
